About Ten
Ten is an AI operating system that connects local businesses and the customers around them, giving both everything they need to thrive.
01 — Why we built it
Somebody needs something. Somebody nearby has it. They rarely meet.
Business here already runs on WhatsApp and mobile money, and it works. But a chat app has no catalogue, no orders and no memory — so every business ends up being its own switchboard, ledger and shopfront, all day, every day.
AI changes what one business can hold. We believe every business will run on AI, and Ten is already built that way.
02 — What we build
An intelligent assistant that helps you get what you need from the businesses around you.
Everything you need to run and grow — customers, your day-to-day and where you stand, with AI to do the work with you.
The APIs and agents behind your own product, on the same rails Ten runs on.
03 — What we value
Ten is not just a name — it is our commitment to give people and businesses everywhere a 10/10 experience, whether they are getting what they need or running the business that provides it.
Africa deserves the best. Most of the tools people use here — WhatsApp included — were not built for this continent. Being Africa-first lets us dig into the real problems and answer them properly.
We value radical truth and radical transparency: being open about what is going well and what is not. It is how the trust we all need to grow gets built.
True progress is not made by a single player. We value real collaboration and partnerships that move the whole ecosystem, and the economy, forward.
Africa-first, in four decisions
Customers message businesses. Ten works there instead of asking everyone to move.
It is how people pay here — the default, not an alternative behind a card form.
A business is run standing up, between customers, on the phone in their hand.
The network is not always there. What you are doing should not stop when it goes.
04 — The founder

There was a business right beside me, and I still could not get what I wanted from it.
I thought it was a customer service problem. It went deeper than that. The business had no way to keep track of its operations, its customers or its payments — so every order started from nothing. I sent screenshots to prove I had paid. I repeated my address every single time. And all of that was on the occasions a reply came quickly enough to matter.
WhatsApp gave every business on this continent a way to grow through conversation, and that was the hard part. What was never built is everything that has to happen after it: the order, the payment, the record, the next time.
WhatsApp opened the conversation. Ten completes it — the experience and the transaction, end to end.
Everyone deserves the best, wherever they live. Africa is no exception.
05 — Join us
We are a small team building for a whole continent, so we do not keep a list of open roles — we keep looking for people who want to work on this. Tell us what you do, what you have built and what you would want to build here.
No form and no careers portal. Message Juls on WhatsApp — tell it about yourself or ask it anything, and it passes your message straight to the team.
Our vision
And a future where every business can run and grow with an agent that works the way it does.
